A microscopic look at the lives of Iranian women who were married off between the ages 12 and 15. This violent tradition changes their lives overnight. Being children themselves, these girls have to take care of their own children and husbands, without any support from their families.
Born in 1982, Nava Rezvani received her BA in editing from the Art University of Tehran. In 2008, she earned her MA degree in dramatic literature and started working as a 35 mm color expert in film labs. Nava made started her filmmaking career in 2009 and her films have travelled to numerous film festivals around the world. Dolls Don’t Know is Nava’s latest film which was screened in IDFA 2014.
