I Want to Be a King


Abbas, his wife and their three children work hard to open a successful eco-guest house but his wildest dream is to create his very own nomadic tribe. He starts looking for a wife who would become his queen to produce offspring in the middle of the desert, trying to fulfill his dream despite the strong opposition of his family.


Mehdi Ganji

Born in Iran 1978. Mehdi Ganji is a filmmaking graduate from the Tehran University of Art. Having specialized in imagery, he started working as a cameraman and film editor in fiction films and in documentaries, working with various Iranian channels and International networks and television like Newsweek and Arte. I Want to Be a King is Mehdi’s critically acclaimed first feature documentary which has been screened in distinguished film festivals such as IDFA or Zurich International Film Festival.
